Parkinson's Self Help Group
Parkinsons Self Help Group was established in October 1989 intially as a Monthly meeting in Alexander Resource Centre.We moved into the Weavers Cottages in 2003 and the New Building is a one stop shop for Parkinsonian's and their carers, offering drop in facilities five days per week, respite for carers and sufferers, complimentary therapies advice and information, training for members and volunteers as well as being accessible to other community groups enabling them to take advantage of all the services we offer.
The drop in is an opportunity for members to get together in a comfortable situation, have lunch together, have access to therapies, take part in various activities and enjoy the companionship of others who understand how parkinson's can change individuals life.
Activities take place on a Tuesday and Thursday from 11am till 2pm in Weavers Cottages.
